Rising Swell Health is a nurse practitioner run practice. What does that mean? At the very core of the nursing model is a focus on the whole person, including their social circle and support system. The initial emphasis on diagnosis really focuses on how the symptoms or conditions will affect the individual, their ability to remain independent, and their support system. The nurse practitioner considers how the plan and implementation of care will affect the individual, taking into account the person as a whole. The nursing model is the core of how we practice and provide treatment to our patients. We offer treatment for a variety of mental health disorders including ADHD, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, sleep disturbances, and more. We also provide a variety of treatment options for substance use disorders including opioid and alcohol use disorder.
We believe we are different for several reasons. Too often we hear from our patients that they were diagnosed solely through a paper assessment scale or questionnaire and feel that they were not listened to during their evaluation or follow up appointments. We want to provide you with the best possible care, and the only way to do that is to listen to your story and your current struggles, so that we can formulate an accurate diagnosis and optimal treatment plan. If someone doesn’t hear your full story, they cannot provide you with the best treatment.
We also want to provide you with a variety of treatment options, which doesn’t always involve medications. There are a multitude of options to assist you on your mental health journey and are often recommended instead of, or in conjunction with medications. Therapy, yoga, exercise, diet modification, and nutritional supplements are a few of the recommendations that may be included in your treatment plan.
I am a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who takes a patient-centered, integrative, holistic approach for treating a variety of mental health disorders. I provide care to patients 6 years old and older. I am extremely passionate about the preservation of one's mental well-being. Treatment from me includes medications, therapy, dietary modifications, and nutritional supplements to achieve optimal mental health.
I use a patient-centered approach when treating my patients. After completing a thorough comprehensive evaluation, I will present you with several treatment options and take the time to explain each option allowing you to ultimately determine your course of treatment. I will ensure that you have a full understanding of these options prior to initiating treatment.
A little about me: I grew up on the Jersey Shore and spent most of days at the beach. I spent my summers in the ocean surfing, fishing, and enjoying the fresh ocean breeze. I am a husband, father of 5, and dog dad. I love the work that I do and feel priviledged to be a part of people's journeys through life.
